“Three years ago,” short guy said, “you reviewed a brewpub in Portland.”
“Oh my God,” Bucky said.
“It was newly opened,” short guy continued doggedly, unaware of Bucky’s incipient melt-down. “The menu was experimental. It wasn’t perfected yet.”
“Oh my God.” Bucky could not believe the pissed-off chefs had found them before the spies. He’d fucking told Steve not to underestimate the kind of enemies a Michelin inspector made, their knife skills were usually better than assassins’. “You’re the chef?”
“Chef and proprieter.”
“Co-proprieter,” tall guy interjected, now poking around the other side of the panic room panel.
“Co-proprieter,” short guy amended. “But the menu’s all mine.”
“Look,” Bucky snapped, blitzed on enough adrenaline to make a corpse do jumping jacks, “I don’t care what you threaten me with, I stand by that fucking review, okay? There was potential, but it was unpolished. The minestrone lacked zest! And the monte cristo was soggy! You can’t have a soggy monte cristo, it defeats the whole purpose of the dish!”
“I get that,” short guy said, holding up a hand palm-out. “I do. It was a fair review. But I’ve made some changes since then that I think you’ll like. If you don’t, that’s fine. I’m just looking for honest feedback.”
“You broke into my house and hacked my panic room to cook me dinner?”
“Wasn’t planning on breaking in,” short guy growled. It was a little more embarrassed than his previous growls. “I did knock.”
“Only after you bypassed the perimeter security!”
Short guy and tall guy exchanged a look, then both shrugged. “Force of habit.”
I assume the roots are moving with the trees due to wind but dang that looks like a cool effect
Yeah, it is super easy to understand why ancient folk believed in monsters, spirits, and the like, because nature is ducking weird.

I will indeed write Earth-3 DCU fic if anybody likes, since I’ve been doing…a lot of that, lately. I’ll also take prompts for Lord of the Rings, Yu Yu Hakusho, Natsume Yuujincho, Trigun, or Final Fantasy VII, as those are all fandoms I’ve worked in recently enough to feel like I’ve got a handle on the cast and setting.

Papá, since you’re now reading my Tumblr and terrifyingly READING THE FIC I REBLOG, I’d like to tell you that ‘The Till-Then from the Ever-Since’ is one of the best fics out there. I’m not sure if you’d be able to follow it with your current Bat-Knowledge, but it might be worth is anyways.

Hot take but sign language should be taught in schools as a language option and all cinemas should provide subtitles on all their movie screenings
I’d suggest a 50/50 split for subtitled and non-subtitled screenings. I know too many people with reading disabilities or whose focus gets shot by words on the screen.
[Video shows lacemaking. A paper is set up with a design marked into it. Attached to the design with a million pins, is delicate lacework. Every edge of every lace shape is held down by the pins.
The lace maker has over a dozen threads with weights on the ends. The artist twists them together in complicated patterns and then pins a thread down, pulling a new line of lace tight. It is meticulous work.
@shmoo92 asked me if I had any information on what Tim’s preboot theatre reno looked like. I was sick and miserable, so it was a PERFECT distraction. I now have a working monitor, so I’ve scanned the floorplan we worked out together and posted it to deviantArt. (Scaling for Tumblr is a pain.) Hope it’s useful for someone!
(Also, if anyone’s inspired to make a version, of a different DCU building design, PLEASE tell me. I love them.)

Inspiration used for my design of Red Robin’s converted Movie Theatre home. I’m posting the floor plan on deviantArt in a moment, but wanted to be able to link to my references. Using that site is confusing.

The lion has three apples balanced on their head. The dog has four. The tiger is throwing more up onto their head and crying,
I know only enough about Overwatch to find the joke funny! And since it’s a joke about only knowing the stuff about Overwatch that makes it into the rumor mill, I didn’t feel the need to know more.
Now, my sister who’s played a lot of Overwatch (tho she quit a while ago because lootboxes were fucking with her head and wallet) claims that this accusation is levied at all new female characters by dudebros who don’t like women. I didn’t care enough to investigate until I got this ask, so I bring you my findings:

My sister is, in this instance, wrong. Well, maybe not in general about that being a trend, but the accusation this time has some weight.
There seem to be slight variations in the conformation of the chin and nose, and possibly the ears–so, cartilaginous tissue. But Ashe is wearing such heavy makeup that all other differences, including that in eye shape, could easily be down to makeup style even on a real human, whose features are not subject to taking up different physical space with the nip of a pixel.
I think they tried to give her different cheekbones, but because of the delicate way they did it it could just as easily be the result of tasteful use of contouring brushes.
She looks like she’d be fun to play, if I was remotely into that sort of game! (I’m not, the number of things to track cause me something approaching ‘rush hour city driving in the rain and also I’m thirsty and need to pee’ stress levels.) She is a cowgirl who shoots things, including dynamite, which she throws through people’s anti-projectile shields I guess? And can apparently deploy a robot named Bob.
But yeah, she looks ridonkulously like Mercy in the face zone. 😀
This is exactly the response I was hoping for! I’m in a similar place regarding Overwatch, but I really enjoy sameface comparisons.
The official art on their ‘Heroes’ page did just enough to differentiate these two that it drew my attention to the fact that there were, like, 5 characters that had very similar faces to Mercy, but none looked particularly cowboy-esque.
Zaria, Mei, and Pharah are noticeably different, though, so I approve of that.
Anyways, they aren’t anything as impressive as Rapunzel and Anna, but I still enjoyed the joke and its explanation.
