😢 ❤️ 👏🏽

I love how he let him cry, told him, “We cry as men” and didn’t hit him with the whole, “Big boys don’t cry” mess. That was lovely.

Phenomenal. Allowed him to emote, then worked with him to understand the what and the why.

This gave me chills; this man is a true teacher. Children are definitely intelligent enough to understand the hard truths of life if you are intelligent and patient enough to know how to teach it to them. This is such an amazing example of respect to this kid’s emotions and maturation that you don’t always see adults extending to a young person.

Fucking finally.

Reasons to be happy today:

  • Tim and Damian fight about a lot of things, but there’s one specific fight that stands out: they’ve been arguing about the shotgun seat of the batmobile for years. At least once a week, a member of their household walks in on the two of them yelling about it, and honestly? They’re all getting tired.
  • What the family doesn’t know is that the fight has been fake since day two. It’s Tim and Damian’s default coverup tactic; if someone walks in on a secret, they immediately resume an argument they haven’t cared about in years. It plays to expectations, so nobody questions it. Tim and Damian are fighting again? Shocker. Must be Thursday.
  • The plan only works if the two of them are ready to throw down with 0.002 seconds notice. Luckily, they are and have always been. It’s the perfect way to hide a) joint plots, b) private information, and c) the fact that occasionally, every once in awhile, they voluntarily associate with one another. Working together is much more effective when everyone else thinks you can’t do it.
  • Bruce’s children run a twitter account titled “Bruce Cries At” solely composed of photos of Bruce tearing up during sad movies, plays, songs, etc. There are a lot of pictures. He’s a sucker for emotional media.
  • Examples: “Bruce cries at Les Miserables,” “Bruce cries at It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Bruce cries at Old Yeller”
  • The City of Gotham isn’t surprised– the pictures are pretty consistent with Bruce’s public persona. The superhero community, on the other hand, is thrilled by hard evidence of Batman– expressionless, serious Batman– showing emotion. Lots of emotion. He cried during Lilo and Stitch, and he’s never gonna live that down.

We Could Have Had It All

dccomicsbookshelf:

Something that makes me sad is that of all the Wayne kids, Jason could have been the golden child if he hadn’t died.

What I mean to say, is that his siblings are…

Dick “I flunked out of business school because I hated it so much and ran off to be a cop in the one place on earth where people consider Gotham a reasonable vacation destination” Grayson

Tim “I dropped out of high school because I’m a genius with no motivation” Drake-Wayne

Cassandra “What are people skills” Cain-Wayne

Damian “can schmooze but is also stabby” Wayne

And then you have Jason “Robin is cool but I get to go to school and learn” Todd

If he hadn’t died you can bet he would have gone on, finished his undergrad (an double major English and Theater degree) and gone straight into a graduate degree.

And also would have been the face and director of the Martha Wayne Foundation. (The branch of the foundation focused on helping local communities and championing the arts.)

Bruce would always be so happy to introduce him like “Yes, this is my child that actually bothered to finish school and is an actual functioning adult and productive member of society. He spends his trust fund on youth centers in Park Row and out of print first edition books.”

Hey Canadians.

My 7 year old son just picked up a flyer from the mail and opened it to find graphic depictions of cut up babies. So i got to explain to my child, who tries not to step on ants because they might suffer, what abortion is.

If you are or know people who are sensitive to this kind of stuff, protect them/yourself. The pamphlet has ultrasound images on the front. Throw it out unopened.

Share please, there are already news reports of little kids throwing up because they’re so frightened. (link has graphic images.)
